IEEE Young Professionals has members across the world, in near and far regions. IEEE Young Professionals Portugal is the national affinity group responsible for promoting collaboration between portuguese members through events and initiatives.
After you have graduated with your first professional degree, IEEE will identify you as an IEEE Young Professional member. This is an automatic process. The IEEE Young Professional identifier covers a 10-year period from this first graduation.

Creating a strong link between companies and IEEE Student Branches by helping the integration of academic students into the industrial environment.
One of the main goals of YP Portugal for 2015 is the development of a program called Young Professionals Internships (YPi). The YPi is a pioneering program that aims to promote the contact of the recently graduated students with the business world through career entry programs in companies with partnerships with YP Portugal.
The YPi hopes to create opportunities for companies through an early contact with potential future employees and opportunities for innovation and development of projects chosen by companies.
The YPi program has a national scope, with several institutions across the country, as well as Student Branches in several universities. In this program are four entities involved: IEEE-Portugal Section, IEEE Young Professionals group, the Portuguese Student Branches and the partner institutions.
The 2015 IEEE Young Professionals Portugal Executive Committee (ExCom) is assisted by two regional representatives, and works in colaboration with former ExComs.
